The St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee of the United Irish Societies of Greater Cleveland Announces New Route for Cleveland’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade
Cleveland, OH - September 14, 2026 - The United Irish Societies worked closely with the City of Cleveland to design a new route that puts the celebration in the heart of downtown's most iconic spaces. The Parade will kick off at Playhouse Square, march through the Gateway entertainment district, and pass through Cleveland's Public Square before disbanding downtown – giving spectators a front-row seat to the city along the way.
Kicking off at Playhouse Square creates a spectacular new stage for the Parade's opening ceremony. The introduction of the 2027 honorees and the singing of the Irish and American national anthems will be more spectacular than ever, setting the tone for the day before a single step is taken. Playhouse Square and Ideastream Public Media have been generous partners in bringing this new beginning to life. The Parade's heritage will be featured beneath the iconic chandelier and on digital media throughout Playhouse Square District.
"We are thrilled to introduce this new route," said Margie Bodle, Executive Director of the Parade Committee. "The change provides new opportunities to showcase Cleveland’s Irish heritage while keeping the Parade in the heart of downtown Cleveland."
New Route Details:
- Start Details: The Parade kicks off at the intersection of E. 17th St. & Euclid Ave.
- Main Path: Marchers proceed south on E. 14th St., west on Prospect Ave., north on Ontario Ave., west on Public Square, north on West Roadway, east on Superior Ave., north on E. 6th St.
- End Details: The Parade concludes at the intersection of E. 6th St. & Rockwell Ave. with marchers and vehicles disbursing in separate directions
Event Highlights:
- Opening Ceremonies will be held at Playhouse Square with its digital media network being utilized to amplify the event!
- Reviewing Stand will be located near E. 3rd St. on Superior Ave.
- TV20 Cameras will be located near East Roadway on Superior Ave. for their live broadcast!
- We anticipate over 100 participating organizations including marching bands, floats, and community groups.
